Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: - The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. - Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. - What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. - The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. - Relevant information from other organisations. - What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The last key inspection of the service took place on 15/09/2008. As a result of that inspection, we made a judgement that this was an excellent service. Feedback from the service users and staff was positive and there was evidence that people who used the service were supported to live valued and fulfilling lives, and that they had control over their daily lives. There have been no adult protection referrals/incidents since the last inspection. At the last inspection we found that the home had appropriate procedures in place in relation to complaints and adult protection issues and that any complains received by the home are recorded and appropriately investigated. We have not received any complaints about the service since the last inspection. We requested that the registered manager completes and returns an Annual Quality Assurance Assessment, which she did in the timescale given. This, as well as information included within the AQAA, indicates that the home continues to provide an excellent standard of care. It also demonstrate that the organisation focuses on positive outcomes for the people who use the service. The home continues to work with us in a very professional manner and the registered manager informs us of any significant events in the home via the notification system without any delay. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We are not going to change our inspection plan and will do a key inspection by 15/09/2011. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of service or safety of people using the service.
