What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included; The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA)that was sent to us by the home. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people living in the home. It also gave us some numerical information about the home. Surveys returned to us by people who have an interest in the home. Information we have about how the home has managed any complaints. What the home has told us about things that have happened. These are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the home in the last 12 months. What other people have told us about the home. The previous annual service review. What has this told us about the service? We feel that the home is being well managed. The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us the information that we asked for. The home told us in the AQAA about its strengths in different areas and what they do well. This includes obtaining the views of people who use the service and other stakeholders. Changes that the home have made recently from listening to people who use the service include, alternations to the menus. People have been able to put suggestions forward and the popular foods will be included more often. Also increased outings and activities due to people being more involved and people asking for them. The home has not received any complaints in the last 12 months and they provide people with a copy of their complaints procedure with their contract of residency. We received 10 surveys from people who use the service and 6 from staff. The feedback we received in the surveys from people who use the service is that they are very happy with the service they receive. Comments include; All staff members are friendly and helpful Able to maintain my independence and come and go to outside activities Staff are cheerful, helpful and support me when appropriate The standards of cleanliness are high Hampton House is a pleasant place to live One person said The meals could be better. Staff also indicated in their surveys that they receive ongoing training and are Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 supported well by the management of the home. Comments we received include; I enjoy working at Hampton House as it has a friendly atmosphere and is well managed. I feel proud to work here A very happy place to work We always do everything we can to allow people to be independent as possible. Areas that the home said they are looking to improve on in the next twelve months are, to continue with the increased outings and activities for people. For staff to provide all care staff with training in the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties(DOLs) as at the present time only the senior care staff have done this training. The service quoted in their AQAA We offer a unique service in Cheltenham to low dependency older people What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review?
