What the care home does well
The Grove is a home that performs well in many areas relating to lifestyle and life choices for service users. Unfortunately shortfalls in both medication and the care planning system have adversely affected the overall rating of the home. Examples of good practice are found in the information about the home and assessment that service users are given before they move into the home permanently. The service users are enabled to make decisions about their lives and are facilitated to take reasonable risks in support of their independence. All lifestyle standards and people`s independence and choice of daily routines are excellent.
What has improved since the last inspection?
It is disappointing that here have been no significant improvements since the last inspection report, particularly in relation to the administration of medication.
What the care home could do better:
Shortfalls in the medication system and its administration must be addressed to ensure that a safe, properly recorded and audited system is in place. Care plans must be more detailed and evidence regular review especially when needs change.
