What the care home does well The manager and her staff team have worked to address these requirements, either fully or partially. We found that they have done the following: - Hand rails have been fitted in a bathroom. This is to help a person to get in and out of the bath more easily. Unfortunately this - To ensure that staff have a consistent approach when working with a person who lives here, a plan has been drawn up to guide staff work in an agreed way. - New procedures are in place to help keep a track of what medication has been ordered and received from the pharmacist. - To help make sure each persons finances are well accounted for there are clear records of the money held for them in the home. This is regularly checked. These checks include periodic oversight by a manager who doesn`t work here. The records are made in a bound book. This is to help ensure records are properly accounted for. What the care home could do better: It is good that guidance has been written regarding the behaviours presented by a person here that can challenge the staff team. However further detail is required to help minimise mis-interpretation by staff. There also needs to be clearer recording on how each situation was handled. This should include information such as the duration of time spent removed from living room, the assumed triggers to behaviour, a detailed description of the behaviour and it`s consequences. This information can then be more clearly analysed and assist in the further development of plans of care. Inspecting for better lives Random inspection report
