Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment AQAA that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. We contacted the home on 30th July 2009 to receive any updates on developments since they sent us this and current fee rates, however the staff on duty at this time were unable to supply us with this information. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgment is that the home is still providing the same level of service. The detail and content supplied within this document was of a sufficient standard. They gave details of improvements made since the last inspection, including; Replacement of the lounge carpet, and the purchasing of new seating, curtains and coffee table for this area. Staff have completed Health Action plans for everyone living at the home. This will help to improve their overall well being and assist in identifying possible health concerns earlier. Through a change in staffing ratio and a change in who is living at the home, there has been an increase in community participation. We received one service user survey, one relative survey and one staff survey. Information within these documents told us that these respondents had no concerns regarding the care offered at the home. The home keeps us informed of incidents and Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 accidents through the regulation 37 notification process, and update us on outcomes as they occur. We received no concerns directly in this reviewing period. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by June 2010. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
