If yes, what have they been: Date of last key inspection: Date of last annual service review (if applicable): Brief description of the service 7 Debdale Road provides care for up to five adults with a learning disability. The home is situated close to Wellingborough town centre and is close to all local amenities, with good transport links both by bus and train into central Northampton. The home is a semi-detached house in a residential street with a large rear garden. At the time of the last inspection everyone living at 7 Debdale Road had their own bedroom. Previously Annual Service Review Page 2 of 6 0 8 0 1 2 0 0 9 there were two people sharing a bedroom, but one bed has since been removed. Communal areas consist of a lounge and a dining room. Fees at the time of the last inspection ranged from £564 to £795 per week. There are costs for extras such as hairdressing, toiletries, holidays, daily papers and magazines. Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection which was on 08/01/2009. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us information about how the home has developed over the last twelve months. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service to the people who live at 7 Debdale Road and is seeking to make further improvements. Two requirements and three recommendations were made following the last key inspection. The AQAA gives some information about how these have been met. For example it states that, All service users have a well documented care plan, person centred plan and health action plan which are all reviewed regularly. It also that the home have created a complaints procedure which is specific to Debdale Road which includes photos. Four surveys were returned to us by people who live at 7 Debdale Road and two were returned by staff members. All were generally positive. One person who lives at the home stated that they would like the home to have a car so that we can go out more. In the AQAA the manager states that the home is planning to purchase a vehicle. The AQAA states that the home has not received any complaints since the last inspection. There have not been any alerts made to the Local Authority under the locally agreed Safeguarding Adults procedure with regard to the 7 Debdale Road. The AQAA tells us that staff turnover is low. This ensures that people are supported by staff who are familiar with their needs and preferences. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? The next inspection of this service will be based on the Fees and Frequency Regulations 2007 and the assessment of risk of the service. Further clarity will become evident as the new registration and inspection system under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 is confirmed. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
