What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last inspection. This included The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA). This is a self assessment document that the service is required to send us to tell us about the progress it has made over the past twelve months. Information we may have received about how the service has managed any complaints. The previous Key Inspection report and the results of any other visits we may have made to the service in the last year. Relevant information from other organisations. Information other people may have given us. Information given to us during a telephone conversation with the registered manager. What has this told us about the service? The service returned the AQAA when we asked for it. It contained very good information about the service and identified areas that have improved since last year. This confirmed that the home has continued to maintain the very high standards of care found at the last inspection It also gave good evidence that the service has always made great efforts to elicit the wishes of the people who live there and those of their supporters. The last inspection report was very positive and the service was judged to be excellent at that time. A recent conversation with the registered manager for the service told us of exciting new plans for the service. These development plans mean that the service will close for review and refurbishment in the next few weeks. This is because the focus of management and rehabilitation for drugs and alcohol misuse is changing. The service is expected to remain dormant for some months. The registered providers, The Kenward Trust and the registered manager for the service have a good history of communicating well with the Commission and have assured us that they will keep us updated as to the progress. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 There will be no change in the inspection plan as a result of the Annual service Review. It should be noted that we can inspect at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
