Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information we received or asked for since the last key inspection. This included the annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) which the provider sent us. The AQAA is a self assessment tool that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service and information about how the providers have managed any complaints. We also looked at the notifications the providers sent to us since the last key inspection. The previous key inspection and any other visits we have made to the service in the last twelve months and any information we have received from other organizations about the service. We sent out resident and staff surveys which gives us information about how people who live and work at the home experience the service. What has this told us about the service? The provider sent us their AQAA when we asked for it. The AQAA was clear and comprehensive and gave us detailed information about the service and the improvements the providers have made or are working towards. We have received information about any changes or incidents that have occurred in the last twelve months. Three resident surveys were returned to us, all were positive. One person stated they attended a fantastic drama group at Care Shangton. Another person told us the food is good and staff are nice. Four staff surveys were returned to us, all were positive. Staff told us the training was excellent and the quality of care provided was high. Staff said they would like more staff meetings and consultation about changes that are implemented. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? The next inspection of this service will be based on the Fees and Frequency Regulations 2007 and the assessment of risk of the service. Further clarity will become evident as the new registration and inspection system under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 is confirmed.
