What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. This included surveys received back from 20 staff and 8 service users. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. What has this told us about the service? The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment was returned to us in a timely manner this was briefly completed but told us that well established systems were in place at the home. It told us where suggestions from residents had been taken up such as improving menus, activities and outings. The surveys from residents told us that people were satisfied with the care given, and that service users get all the help they need. Another service user told the did everything well One relatively new resident told us they had been made very welcome and any worries they had about moving in had now gone. Two surveys told us that residents considered the home to be the best in Derbyshire. Residents indicated to us that they knew how to raise any concerns they may have. The staff told us on the surveys that residents were put first and the home was run very well. Staff considered that residents were kept safe and their dignity was protected. Staff told us that We always work towards their own individual needs and high quality care was delivered. Staff told us a homely atmosphere was provided. Staff told us that mandatory training and professional course were offered to staff. Many comments were included to tell us that staff felt the residents needs were being met and choices were offered to residents. Some staff made suggestions that the home would benefit from newer equipment, security lighting around the building and better storage for wheelchairs. The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment recorded 0 complaints being received and no safeguarding adult referrals have been made. The Care Quality Commission has also not received any concerns or complaints about the service. Our records indicate the home has sent us information on a regular basis where there have been events in the home which have affected the well being of residents.
