What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The service sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the service is still providing a excellent service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. We sent out surveys to people who live in this service we had 2 returned. The surveys were completed by people with the assistance of staff members. The feedback in the surveys demonstrated that people living in the home are happy there. They told us that routines in the home are flexible. They told us that they knew how to make a complaint if they were unhappy about anything. One persons comments included the home has very caring staff and I have a lovely bedroom which is decorated with my choice of colours. We received four staff surveys from members of staff who work in the home. They told us they had the necessary checks including Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance when they started work and that the training they receive is relevant to their role. Staff told us that there are always enough staff to meet the individual needs of all the people who use the service. Some of the comments made by staff include: Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We work as a team and this means everyone gets the support needed and communication between each of us All people at the service are well cared for with all aspects of life Staff provided care for people using the holistic approach The Commission has not received any complaints regarding the service since the last inspection. In their AQAA the service have stated that they have received no complaints in the last 12 months. They also told us that no safeguarding adults referral have been made and investigated during the last 12 months. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review?
