None Annual Service Review Page 2 of 5 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We last Inspected this home on 22 November 2007. We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. People told us they receive the care and support they need and that staff are available when needed. They also told us they knew how to make a complaint should they have any concerns. People said there are activities they can take part in and that they enjoy the food. Relatives also told us they were happy with the home. Their comments included Coxbench is a very well run home and I am extremely happy with the help my mother gets; very satisfied; very welcoming and homely, the staff are all very kind and perform their duties well - led by an excellent management team; Coxbench Hall is like being on a permanent holiday in a luxury hotel. It is beautifully furnished and stands in magnificent grounds. The staff are efficient, friendly and attentive at all times; a warm, friendly environment with good food and a wide range of activities and provides homely, pleasant surroundings. Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 The staff who work in the home told us they had the training, information and support they needed to do their jobs properly. They said that the home creates a happy friendly atmosphere for residents and workers and it is a very nice home. In general they were happy with the way the home was run and felt the only areas for possible improvement would be more trips out for people and maintaining correct staffing levels at all times. Visiting health/medical professionals also told us that it is a well run home. Their comments included they are always helpful, friendly and efficient and respond to patients needs and requirements quickly when required. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? The next inspection of this service will be based on the Fees and Frequency Regulations 2007 and the assessment of risk of the service. Further clarity will become evident as the new registration and inspection system under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 is confirmed.
