Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included; The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection report. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. Information from any visits we have made to the service. What has this told us about the service? The service sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. Information within the AQAA shows that there are currently two people living at the home, with both being resident for some years. The registered provider, who provides the day to day support for service users, knows both individuals extremely well. Both service users are very independent, have a key to the front door and a key for their bedroom and decide what to do each day and how to spend their time. One person enjoys travelling on public transport and sometimes makes a day trip as far as London and is able to do so independently. The other person spends time locally, regularly visiting a cafe and betting shop. The two residents get on well and sometimes go to the local pub together in the evening. Previous inspections and information within the AQAA confirm that both individuals know their rights, have regular contact with relatives and continue to receive support from health care professionals regarding their mental health. The service provided at Grosvenor House acts a safety net whilst still promoting independence for the people living there. Information within the AQAA states that the lounge and the small smoking room have been redecorated. Plans for further improvements include upgrading the kitchen, tiling the external front steps and plastering the external brickwork at the front of the home. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 The registered provider also confirmed that all policies have been reviewed this year, ensuring that they remain useful and relevant to the service at Grosvenor House. No complaints have been received by the home or by the CQC. Both service users completed and returned CQC surveys giving feedback about the service provided. These confirm that individuals decide what to do each day, know who to speak to if unhappy, are aware of how to make a complaint if necessary and that they are well treated. To the question What does the home do well? both responded everything. We looked at all the information we have received and our judgement is that the service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We will continue to monitor the service. We can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
