The plans are kept fully up to date and reviewed on a regular basis or as needs change. In conjunction with the plans of care, other information has been developed to promote the support and care needs of individuals including photographic life skills plans, detailed healthcare files, positive and in-depth risk assessments amongst other things. Service users stated that they enjoy living in the home and that they are treated with dignity and respect. One person said, `It`s my home. We are one big happy family.` The owners, who are the main carers and live on site, were observed to treat all individuals in a positive and caring manner. The home have developed pictorial menus demonstrating that people who use the service have a healthy and balanced diet. Service users have an active and fulfilling lifestyle. Service users have been on an annual holiday to Florida for the past 6 years that they spoke fondly of. Photographs adorn their bedroom walls as a reminder of these experiences. The premises are decorated and maintained to a very high standard providing acomfortable and homely environment. Service users have individual bedrooms decorated according to taste. Aspects of the home have been adapted to meet the changing needs of the service users including the provision of a walk-in bath/shower. There is a well maintained garden to the rear of the home.
