Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at the information we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection completed on the 18th November 2008. This included: surveys completed by people who use the service and staff; the previous key inspection carried out on the 18 November 2008 and a telephone conversation with the registered manager. What has this told us about the service? People who use the service told us they can do what they want during the day, evening and at weekends. They said staff listen and act on what they say and they are aware of how to make a complaint. Staff told us they had the appropriate checks before they started work, that they see the manager regularly and have enough support and training to carry out their role. The manager told us they have made a number of improvements to the environment, including all rooms being redecorated, new carpet in the entrance hall, new flooring in the kitchen and the refurbishment of one bathroom. They plan to redevelop the garden early next year. We received one concern, which identified the service admitted someone whose needs they were not able to meet, this was raised with the manager although we have not received a response. The service continues to let the CQC know about things that have happened since our last key inspection. The service works well with us and have shown us that their home continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan and will do a key inspection by the 10th November 2011. However, we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
