Annual Service Review Page 2 of 6 0 4 1 1 2 0 0 8 comprises 25 single and 1 shared bedroom. None has ensuite facilities but each has a wash-hand-basin. There are communal areas, lounges and/or dining rooms, on each of the three floors. The managing organisation, the LBC, was considering proposals that would mean the early closure of this home as a part of the plan to build new facilities on other sites but at the time of reporting the Local Authority has revised its plans. Inevitably, relatives and the many other people who represent the service users were very disappointed by the uncertainty, and possibility of early closure. The temporary reprieve, estimated to be until 2008, will be welcomed by the many people who like Stroud Green Lodge as it is. The Commission does not seek to influence decisions about the opening and closing of care home but does expect standards to be maintained throughout the life of a home. Fees are currently from #517 per week. Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review:
What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received or asked for since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included, The annual quality assurance assessment AQAA that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we may have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The residents and staff still like to refer to their home as Addingtonm Heights since all staff and resdients are from the latter. Last year we found that this care home was continueing to provide very good outcomes for residents and we are not aware of any changes that change our opinion of the service and it remains a good service. The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment, the AQAA when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. We received a few surevys and the residents were very postive in their feedback but made few actual comments other than to mark the questionaires very positively. The few comments we did receive were very complimentary about Stroud Green Lodge, they say for example, We are very happy with the care and support, Staff are very caring, High standards are maintained. We asked if residents got the support the needed and a resident said, very much so. Another said of catering, the meals by and large are quite good. Visitors were even more enthusiastic about the home stating, It is perfect and This is an excellent care home. No suprisingly such respondants were sad to know the home will be closing to be replaced under the new for old plans. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. The commission is also involved in meetings with the L B Croydon as to monitor progress in the new for old scheme. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 4 November 2010. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. Annual Service Review Page 5 of 6 Reader Information
