What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. The AQAA contained clear, relevant information supported by a range of evidence. The AQAA let us know about changes made in the service in the last 12 months and what further improvements were planned. The data section of the AQAA was fully completed. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgment is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. We received surveys from the 3 people living in the home, all completed with assistance from staff. We also received surveys from 3 relatives of people in the home. The surveys all gave positive feedback about the home. Relatives told us that people in the home were treated as individuals and their needs were well met. Comments included: This home is better than what we could ask for or wish. It means the whole world to us to see (name of person) looked after so well, and, lives in a very well run and clean home...appears to be very happy there. We received surveys from 3 staff working in the home. They told us they always had up to date information about the needs of people in the home. They said they had relevant training to meet those needs. They said there were usually enough staff to meet the needs of people in the home. Staff told us: Staff are supported, respected and valued, and, Always listens to staff problems, giving full support when anyone is struggling. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? The next inspection of this service will be based on the Fees and Frequency Regulations 2007 and the assessment of risk of the service. This will be further clarified when the new registration and inspection system under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 is confirmed. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. Annual Service Review Page 5 of 6 Reader Information
