What the care home does well Wilmott`s View is a registered care home providing accommodation, care and support to up to seven adults with a learning disability. It is a small home that offers a homely environment and support to people that may use the service, to live independently with some support. The information we gathered from the AQAA, demonstrated the visions and values of the service. It also demonstrated the proposed management , staffing, monitoring systems and delivery of care and support to people who may use the service, which promotes their wellbeing and independence. The AQAA stated that the service is currently in the process of recruiting an `acting manager` whilst the service is dormant. The Quality Assurance and Development Manager for Msaada Care Ltd has confirmed that the service still remains dormant and they will advise us as to when the service admits a person to the home. We therefore have not visited the service or carried out a Key Inspection, and were unable to assess the quality of improvements made to the service. You can read more about this in our guidance called, `How we manage dormant services`, which is available on our website: www.cqc.org.uk What the care home could do better: Wilmott`s View should ensure, when it becomes operational, that they have addressed the requirements and the good practice recommendations made at the last Key Inspection. They must also appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to the position of an Acting Manager for the service. All health and social care services must meet the registration requirements for the new `Health and Social Care Act 2008`, coming into force this year. We also read the Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA), which is a self-assessment. The AQAA was completed by the Quality Assurance and Development Manager, for Msaada Care Ltd, which is the Registered Provider and was returned to us. The information we gathered from the AQAA told us the service was not operational, in that, there is no-one living at the home, no staff and no acting manager for the service.
