Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review:
What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included the annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. We looked at information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. We also looked at what the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. We read the previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. We sent out surveys to people who use the service and have included their comments in this report. Everyone responded to the surveys. What has this told us about the service? The service sent us their annual quality assurance assessment when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the service is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. We have not received any complaints about the service. Everyone who responded to the surveys stated they knew how to make a complaint and know who to speak to if they are not happy. This was also confirmed in the last inspection report completed on the 04/12/08 The notifications sent to us show us that the home acts appropriately to protect the people who live there. When asked in the survey what the home does well one person said that They (the staff) cook nice meals and look after us... They keep the house clean and they are all nice to get on with. Another stated, They do everything well. A third person stated They keep the house running smoothly and fresh and clean. They let the residents chose the meals for each day of the week. When we asked what the home could do better one person said that They could have another member of staff instead of employing agency staff. We looked at information the the AQAA and noted that it stated that, The home uses 3 regular bank workers, this is to ensure consistency of care.We will talk with residents and staff members about the use of agency staff at the next inspection. Following this report we were contacted by the home to tell us the new email is Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 Michellec@aspectdandmilestones.org.uk. We are unable to change the front sheet of this report at this time. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 04/12/10 however we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
