What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last annual service review. This included: - The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the home. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the home. - Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. - What the service has told us about things that have happened in the home. These are called notifications and are a legal requirement. - The previous key inspection. - What other people have told us about the service. The date of the last key inspection was 30/11/07 and the last annual service review, 07/10/08. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service, they continue to make improvements and they know what further improvements they need to make. The AQAA indicates that staff members have received training on issues such as person centred reviews, communication passports, dementia awareness, safeguarding adults & children and a range of safe working practices; facilities in the lounge and double bedroom have been upgraded; and work has started upon developing a more accessible version of concerns & complaints paperwork. We received comment cards from four people who use the service. All continue to be satisfied with the quality of the care they receive whilst at Glebe House. When asked what the home does well, comments included the following: Makes things fun; It offers me weekend breaks where I can meet other people. We also received comment cards from three members of staff. When they were asked what the home does well, their comments included the following: We offer person centred services that relate to the individuals wants & needs. We offer a high staff ratio in order to provide the service, who are all confident & competent in all areas of training relevant to our job roles. Glebe House also offers a supportive team for both clients and their families and are committed to give quality care; The short break weekend offers good choices of activity. Staff are person-centred. Home from home with a good atmosphere. Well trained staff; I feel Glebe House is an excellent place for clients and staff. Everybody is enthusiastic, eager and an enjoyable time is had by all! The home continues to work well with us and they have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review?
