Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information we have received or asked for since the last inspection. This included the Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) requested by us. This is a legal document that gives us information on what has been happening in the service in the previous year. It tells us what the service has been doing to ensure the people who live in the home have a good experience. The AQAA was completed in a manner that gave us good information on the care of the people who live in the home. We also sent surveys to people who use the service. We looked at notifications sent to us by the home. A notification is a legal requirement that requires the home to inform us when there is an incident that impacts on the health and welfare of any of the residents. We also looked at any relevant information that may have come from other sources such as Adult Care Services of Health agencies. What has this told us about the service? The Manager returned the AQAA in a timely manner and has kept us informed of what is happening in the home. We looked at all the information available to us and we continue to be of the opinion that the home continues to be managed in the best interests of the people who live there and that the Manager carries out her duties in an excellent manner. Here is some of the information we made our judgment on. The home continues to maintain a homely atmosphere where the people who use the service are included in the running of the home. They have a group of dedicated staff who continue to care for the residents. They have devised new care plans while working with information from the Alzheimers Society and they focus on the strengths of the residents. Dementia pathway training has been introduced for all staff. The home plans to apply for dementia accreditation in the coming year. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We can inspect this service at any time if we have concerns about the care provided. There is no information to indicate that an inspection is required in the near future. The next key inspection will be undertaken within two years of the date of this review unless we get information that indicates an earlier visit is required. As with all care services information will continue to be gathered over the intervening period. The homes performance will be subjected to a process of continual assessment and evaluation in the light of information received, with appropriate regulatory action being taken as indicated.
