This inspection was carried out on 4th October 2006.

The inspector found no outstanding requirements from the previous inspection report, but made 2 statutory requirements (actions the home must comply with) as a result of this inspection.

What the care home does well
The home is located in South Harrow within access of a variety of amenities, and public transport facilities. The care home is welcoming and has `homely` features, and is very clean. The environment of the care home is well maintained. A resident spoke of the staff being supportive, and spoke of being very satisfied with the service provided. The residents are supported and encouraged to be as independent as possible. Staff have a good knowledge and understanding of resident`s needs, and were observed to be very sensitive and respectful to residents during the unannounced inspection.Care plans are comprehensive, accessible, and up to date, and regularly reviewed.
What has improved since the last inspection?
The quality of the service provided has remained consistently good. The majority of the recommendations from the previous inspection have been met.
What the care home could do better:
Information/documentation about the care home could be further developed and needs to show evidence of regular review. A healthcare risk assessment needs to be developed.
