Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 7 What we found:
This was a focused site visit which enabled us to seize documentation under CODE B of PACE - Police and Criminal Evidence Act. We did this in response to a safeguarding alert where concerns had been raised regarding various aspects of care of an individual person who uses the service but specifically regarding pressure care. We found that staff had some awareness of pressure care requirements but formal training had not been provided. Pressure care was being delivered but records did not reflect why information was being recorded especially in the case of food and fluid charts. Optimum or ideal levels of food and fluid were not recorded, neither where accurate amounts of food and fluid taken. Turn charts were not always completed - the same is true of food and fluid charts but information could generally be found elsewhere.
