It is owned by Cedar
Care Homes for Older People Page 2 of 8 Brief description of the care home Court Care Ltd The building is situated in the market town of Whittlesey and is within reach of shops, pubs and other local amenities. Accommodation comprises 21 single bedrooms, all but two of which have en-suite facilities, and 2 double rooms, which also have en-suite facilities. There are a total of three day/quiet rooms and the home has bathing and toilet facilities, which are provided with aids to enable the needs of the residents to be met. The home has transport available to service users, including two wheelchair accessible vehicles, for visits into the community. Residents have access to a garden and patio area at the front of the building. Weekly fees are £560. Residents pay additionally for newspapers, private chiropody and hairdressing. We undertook this inspection following concerns raised with us about poor pressure area care for residents in the home. We spoke with seven residents, three members of staff and the manager. We also checked two residents for any signs of pressure sores and viewed three residents positional change charts. Staff told us that only one resident is currently being treated for a pressure sore, which they had acquired in hospital before being admitted to the home. We spoke with seven residents who told us they didnt have any pressure sores. We viewed pressure relieving mattresses on their beds and pressure relieving cushions on their arm chairs. We physically checked two residents pressure areas. These areas were intact with no red areas or pressure sores seen. We viewed positional change charts for three residents. On some occasions they had not been completed fully and the actual time residents had been turned was not recorded accurately. Although we found no evidence that any current residents have pressure sores, concerns about the care of one resident remain and are currently being investigated under safeguarding procedures.
