The proprietors Mr and Mrs Hodges, have provided care and accommodation for one resident user for the past twenty five years. The home provides a single bedroom on the first floor for the personal use of the resident with accessibility to all other areas of the home. The standard of physical Annual Service Review Page 2 of 5 environment is high throughout and its ambience is warm and welcoming. The current fees are £350:00 and this includes toiletries, some clothing and costs towards some activities. What did we do for this annual service review? The last key inspection was carried out 24th May 2007 and rated the home as a 3* excellent service. An annual service review for the service was carried out on 15th July 2008. We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the annual service review. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgment is that the home is still providing a good service and they know what further improvements they need to make We have received two completed surveys and both state they are fully satisfied with the service with made additional comments of - I am very satisfied with all aspects of the service, the home offers the very best quality of life. Olcote provides a stable environment, and I am very happy and settled, a most homely setting. The AQAA informs us that they have a robust concerns, complaints procedure but that they have received no complaints since the last key inspection. We, the commission, have not received any correspondence in this area. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 7th July 2010.
