What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at the annual quality assurance assessment that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by three people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service. The previous key inspection. We three met service users while on site, we received comments from three care managers by telephone. What has this told us about the service? The home still proides an excellent service, and that they know what further improvements they need to make. The views of care managers also were positive on the service delivery. Staff we are told works with individuals to enable them live meaningful lives, the service is particularly good at supporting people to develop skills and manage risks appropriately. While visiting the service to review the Outreach service we met with three people living at the care home. People living in the home tell us that they are happy there. They are particularly pleased with the support they get and activities they are able to do. Persons that have difficulty and challenging behaviour find that the home has support staff that are experienced in responding to challenging situations. The home is good at making all the necessary and relevant notifications. It continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. Local authority social workers find that the communication with the home is good, they are kept informed on the welfare of each person using the service. They work well with us and relevant health and social care professionals, and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We plan a key inspection by the middle of January 2010. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 5 Reader Information
