This inspection was carried out on 4th October 2006.
CSCI has not published a star rating for this report, though using similar criteria we estimate that the report is Adequate. The way we rate inspection reports is consistent for all houses, though please be aware that this may be different from an official CSCI judgement.
The inspector found there to be outstanding requirements from the previous inspection report but made no statutory requirements on the home.

What the care home does well
Many relatives were complimentary about the way their relative was assessed for admission, and the friendly process for allowing them to see the home and talk to the owners. Relatives also described the staff as friendly and caring. "The care and kindness my mother receives cannot be faulted." Another relative said: "I find all the staff very friendly and compassionate. When we visited we were impressed by the way the staff interacted with the guests. Staff treat residents with respect and dignity." The home was clean and free from odours. A relative commented: "The home is always clean and there are never any unpleasant smells." Staff are able to support some residents to enjoy the garden, or to walk down the street.
What has improved since the last inspection?
Records of the administration of medication had improved to meet the requirements imposed. Resident`s care plans now contained a photo of the person.The arrangements for handling dirty laundry now met good infection control practice. Staff recruitment procedures now followed the standards to ensure the protection of residents.
