Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service.. What has this told us about the service? We received the AQAA when we asked for it, it contained detailed information about the service, what it does well and how it intends to improve. We have been told that the service does well in the following areas, Provides a consistently good standard of care, support and enablement. Respects the uniqueness of our resident group. Provides opportunities for new experiences. Promotes independence. Enables people to decide on and reach their goals and potential. Encourages/enables people to express themselves and their opinions. The service has told us it has improved by, Improved person centred care planning (PCCP) documentation. Reviewed/revised the Health Action Plans (HAP). But has also said it can make further improvements to the service by, Listening more closely to the views of the people who use the service. Continue to provide more accessible policies and procedures. Continue to strive to provide a high quality, good value service that benefits people. Two people using the service completed and returned surveys, they didnt make any additional comments about the quality of service they receive. But they did confirm that they had received enough information about the service before they moved in, that they are involved with decisions, and that staff treat them well. Relatives told us, Its a very well run home, I think the service is fine at the moment. I think the service has always been top class. I am highly satisfied and think they look Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 after my relative brilliantly. Staff have told us in surveys that, People using the service have plenty of support for activities, colleges, work placements and are very motivated. We could do better by giving more choices on their opinions every day and what THEY, would like. Supports people well, affords a safe environment in which they live, encourages them to be active and positive in every thing they do. Keeps people active with activities and work placements. Creates a secure active and friendly environment for people. Some staff have raised concerns about the future of the service and how people using it will be supported. We have also received comments about how the service can improve. The organisation could respond more efficiently when maintenance problems arise. People support each other and work well as a team. there is always room for improvement to achieve things around the home. I am very concerned about the proposals for the transition of people into supported living. That it must be done with their needs as a top priority and the area in which they are moved to is of a good standard and is safe. We have been told there will be a lot of changes to the service within the next year. I feel that this information is not clear and also people using the service and relatives have not been fully informed. I feel that staff are feeling in limbo and morale is low. Craegmoor and management have not dealt with this very well. We have not received any complaints about this service. People using the service have not raised any concerns in surveys and have said that they know who to go to if they have any concerns and how to make a complaint. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We havent changed our judgement about this service as a result of this Annual Service Review. We will continue with our planned inspection programme and carry out an unannounced key inspection when it is scheduled to be completed. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
