What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received,or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last twelve months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it.It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. Prior to admission to the home, you told us that robust assessments take place, and that all relevant parties are involved to ensure that prospective service users needs can be met. The information provided informs us that the service has procedures in place to safeguard and protect service users, these include:robust recruitment practices, thorough assessment of service users needs, staff training and development and that detailed health and safety procedures are in place. There have been five safeguarding referrals and two complaints during the last twelve months and the home has worked with external agencies to resolve the issues. You said that all staff are trained and know how to deal with complaints and safeguarding alerts. You said that improvement continue to be made in all aspects of the service based on the views of others. You address any issues around equality and diversity and show how these are positively promoted in practice. Information provided shows that there is a skilled staff team who support and promote peoples social and health care needs. And make sure people are able to maintain and improve their independence. Surveys were sent out to people living in the home, staff and other professionals. One person expressed concern about being unable to self medicate and this information was shared with the manager. Four surveys returned by other professionals involved with the service were complimentary. Comments included: Excellent documentation. One of the most professional organisations in the area.It is refreshing to review people with all the relevant and properly documented information. From first point of contact the manager and staff were very receptive to individual needs.Once the placement had commenced the staff team were superb.Communication is excellent,I have experienced a very well organised and professional service.
