Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service (some with the help of their supporters). Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? We received the annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we had asked for it. We got the information we needed from the AQAA. This information included how this service involves people in the running of the home. The manager reports she operates an open door policy, that the home carries out regular quality assurance surveys and that people living here, and their supporters are involved in the planning of their care. In the surveys returned by people living in this home, they say that they always or usually get the care and support they need, that staff are always or usually available and that they always or usually like the meals served here. Comments from people included that all basic needs are fully cared for, staff are always helpful and cheerful, meals are very good and this is a small friendly home where staff are kind. We have not received any concerns about this service in the last year. The home tell us they have not received any complaints or concerns. We are kept up to date with all events at the home through notifications. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We will carry out an unannounced key inspection, as already planned, by January 2011. We will inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of this service or the safety of the people using this service.
