What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at any information we have received about Holicote since the last Annual Service Review on 09 December 2008. This information included the Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA). This is a self-assessment document that the manager has completed to tell us how well the home is meeting the needs of the people who live here. We looked at any events or changes that the home has told us about. These are called notifications and it is important that the home keeps us up-to-date about anything that affect the well-being of people who use this service. The Home is very good at keeping us informed. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us the Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It gave us all the information we asked for. The AQAA has clear evidence of planning to improve the service and development in areas such as care planning, meeting with service relatives, and staff training. AQAA shows that all staff receive training in all mandatory areas and National Vocational Training (NVQ) The home has improved contacts with the surrounding community The AQAA show that the home still provides a very good standard of accommodation, that it is well-decorated and properly maintained. Service users have a personal support plan and are consulted about how the home is run. The home continues to let us know when things have happened and they have shown us that they manage issues well. The home works well with us and has shown us that its service continues to provide excellent outcomes for the people who live here. Our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 09 December 2010 However we can inspect the home at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people who live here.
