It is situated on the outskirts of the village of Wyboston, close to the market town of St. Neots. On arrival at these premises, we found the home to be dormant. This Key Inspection took place on the 4th of November 2009 at 09:00 hours. It was carried out by regulatory inspectors Mrs Louise Trainor and Mrs Sally Snelson. On arrival at the home at 09:00 hours we found it to be empty. We visited Cranwell Court, the sister home to Latham House, which is situated next door. We met with the Registered Manager at Cranwell Court Mrs Kate Houseago. She advised us that the nine residents from Latham House had been moved to ‘Manor Farm’, another of the Brookdale care homes, whilst Latham House is being refurbished. We spoke with Mr Matt Capener, the Head of Residential Care for Brookdale Healthcare, on the telephone, and he confirmed this to be the case. He advised us that the residents moved out of Latham House last week, and a notification letter is being sent to the Care Quality Commission detailing this information. At 09:30 hours we contacted Mr Andy Green, the link inspector for Manor Farm, which is in Cambridgeshire, to advise him of this information. Latham House will remain a dormant service until we are informed that it is operational again on completion of the refurbishments. Requirements that were issued at the last inspection on the 27th of November 2008 will remain outstanding until compliance is achieved.
