What the care home does well The residents are supported to engage in well planned and meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities within the community in which they live. Residents were observed to be going out to various community activities including attending to day service facilities. The home has good links with other care agencies and they work very closely with those agencies in meeting the needs of the residents. The residents are given opportunity to make decisions for themselves. These include decisions to be supported to go out regularly, decisions to be involved in household activities such as menus choices and being involved in the choice of decorations in the home. What the care home could do better: On this inspection visit, none of the aspects of the running of the home that were looked at were identified as needing to be improved upon. Records relating to training were examined. The inspector found that all the training areas that were identified as needing to be provided for the staff by the provider have been addressed. These include staff refresher training in safe handling of medication, first aid, moving and handling, safeguarding adults, mental capacity act and deprivation of liberty safeguards.
