Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included: a) surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. b) information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about the things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. c) The previous key inspection report. d) Relative information from other organisations e) what other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The last key inspection was carried out on 28/09/2008 showed that the home was continuing to provide Good outcomes for people. We had three surveys returned from staff. These contained only positive comments. Staff said that we provide sensitively personal care and always consider peoples dignity and privacy. One staff memebr stated, the new manager has been wonderful she makes a great effort to make sure peoples needs are met and has made lots of improvement to the home Staff told us that they are always given enough information to provide safe care to people staying in the home. They said that they feel supported by the managers of the care home. A senior carer told us that improvements have been made to the home during the last year. The care records have been improved, new activities are being introduced. Several areas of the home have been decorated. Staff are provided with supervision and opportunities to increase their skills. The home encourages staff to take NVQ training. At the present time 83 of staff hold an NVQ level 2 award or an equivalent qualification. Records show that there have been no complaints made about the home since the last inspection. There have been no safeguard investigations. No negative comments have been received from any agency in respect of the care practice of the care home. Our records show that the manager continues to tell us about all the things that happened in the home that affects people who live there, such as hospital admissions and accidents and any injuries. Each time the home tells about anything that has happened, they also tell us what they have done to support people in a better way for the future, and keep them safe. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? The information we have tells us the service continues to provide positive outcomes for people who use the service. We are not going to change our inspection plan. The next inspection of the service will be based on the fees and frequency regulations 2007 Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 and the assessment of the risk. However we can inspect the service at any time if her concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using it Annual Service Review Page 5 of 6 Reader Information Document Purpose: Author: Audience: Further copies from: Annual service review CQC General Public 0870 240 7535 (national contact centre) Our duty to regulate social care services is set out in the Care Standards Act 2000.
