Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us most of the information we asked for. They told us how they find out what people at the home want and think of the home, and what they are doing to make sure their services provides good and excellent outcomes for them. We sent surveys to 13 people living at the home, their relatives and 5 staff members. We received 9 surveys back from people living there, 8 from relatives or visitors to the home and 2 from staff members. Most people are happy with the care they receive, what they are able to do during the day and the environment of the home. Most of the comments we received from people living at the home were positive, there was only one comment suggesting how the home could improve. Some of these comments are, Meets all my needs in a caring considerate and professional way, Creates a safe and well managed atmosphere! Very pleased with the level of care. Decor is a little dated but always clean and tidy! The home is a restful and peaceful home that shows great respect to their residents and treats them with dignity and Medical care and services provided by this home are good. Staff are readily available at all times and are willing and helpful. Would recommend this home to other people. Most of the relatives and visitors who returned surveys also had positive things to say about the home. Some of these comments are, (persons name) is unable to Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 communicate. I visit her every 5 out of 7 days per week. The attention she receives from all levels of staff is magnificent, We feel very privileged that we found Park House!! Its a great home! And truly deserves to be recognised as such!, Adapt to patients individual needs very very well. Employ usually a high level of staff with great personalities. Create a really good family feel to the home! I always feel welcome when I go to visit, always very friendly and helpful. Deal with patients in a dignified and respectful manner at all times and If we were in the same position we would move in ourselves!. We asked people about whether they know who to speak to if theyre not happy about something and how to complain. Six out of 9 people said they know how to make a complaint and eight people that returned a survey said they know who to speak to if theyre not happy. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide excellent outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 6th December 2011. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
