Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? This annual service review included a review of the information received by the Commission since the previous key inspection on 24 November 2008. We looked at all the information we have received or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included Annual Quality Assurance Assessment Notifications we have received from the service including matters required by law to be reported to the Commission Telephone interview with Service Manager, Registered Manager and a care professional involved in the review and placement of people living in the home. What has this told us about the service? The home provided us with a good Annual Quality Assurance Assessment, which contributed information to this Annual Service. At the last key inspection, we were accompanied by an Expert by Experience who interviewed all the residents available. They were satisfied with the care and support they received from the home. There are eight residents living in the home. The Service Manager and Registerd Manager told us that the following improvements have been made two residents bedrooms have been painted one resident is now self medicating under the updated Self medication Policy all staff have received safeguarding adults training One resident has moved out and a one new resident moved in. The home is working with this resident to improve their independence and working towards college enrolment and is purchasing a computer use in the home. Most residents have had their care reviewed by their placing authorities. One other person is due to have their care reviewed next week. The home has had two safeguarding adults alerts since the last inspection. These have been subject to action under the Local Authoritys Safeguarding Adults Guidelines and were not found to be substatiated. We spoke to a health professional involved in overseeing the service users review, who told us that their placing authority were satisfied with the care provided in the home. There has been one complaint which is currently being addressed by the home. The homes AQAA stated that the following improvements have been made: Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 Staff have received training report writing, person centred care and Advanced Training in the Safe Handling of Medications The home is working to develop further ways of supporting residents to move towards independant living What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review?
