Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at the annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. We checked our information about how the service has managed any complaints. There have been none in the last twelve months. We looked at what the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. We looked at the previous key inspection and the results of any other contact that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. There were no requirements from the previous inspection. We spoke to the manager of the home. What has this told us about the service? The AQAA was sent to us when we requested it. It provided us with information about the outcomes for people using the service. Within the AQAA, the manager identified that they are continuing to work on the Statement of Purpose, including making it more easy for clients to understand. They are also planning on building on the communication tools already in place to make sure that residents are supported to understand and make choices about their daily lives. The menu and some activities have been changed as a result of listening to what people say. The manager also reflected that the service wishes to give opportunities to people who live in The Elms to contribute to staff meetings and policy groups. There are also plans to provide more details within care plans to reflect how staff need to support people ensuring that they are enabled to be as independent as possible. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues appropriately. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan. We can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
