What the care home does well Every one has rehabilitation goals which are agreed with them as part of their rehabilitation. They are supported by a multidisciplinary team which includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy and clinical psychology. Residential support workers support them to achieve their goals in the home. Service users are registered with the local general practitioner and there was evidence in their files that they see him when necessary. Everyone had a care plan which was updated regularly. Medication is managed well. Records are kept of medication being delivered to the home and returned. Service user`s medication records are completed in full. Controlled drugs are stored securely and checked regularly. The company has a clinical alert scheme to investigate any medication errors and to address any issues. This had been used to review the systems in place following service users home visits. Staff have had training in safeguarding vulnerable people. There is an ongoing plan to update that training on an annual basis. Staff have access to the local multi- agency safeguarding policies and procedures and know who to contact if they have concerns. There is a stable management team with an experienced manager. What the care home could do better: No recommendations have been made as a result of this review. We found that service users were supported in a relaxed and encouraging manner. They were able to choose how they spent their day, in line with their rehabilitation goals.
