The home is a detached eight-bedroom house in an elevated position set back from a busy main road. There is a steep driveway to the front of the house. All residents accommodation is on the ground floor. Each resident has a bedroom and access to two toilets and one bathroom with walk-in shower. There is a sun lounge at the back of the house overlooking the secluded garden, which is the communal seating Annual Service Review Page 2 of 5 0 9 0 2 2 0 0 9 area for residents. The home admits residents who wish to smoke. Mr and Mrs Lingham were registered by Bromley Local Authority in 1992 as approved care providers with the boroughs former Adult Home Finding Scheme and they continue to provide care within their own home. At the time of our last inspection in February 2009, the fees for this home ranged from £420-£480 per week. Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We reviewed the report of our last key inspection of the home in February 2009. We looked at the annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that the home sent to us. We surveyed people using the service to obtain their views about the quality of services that Whitehouse provides. We reviewed our files to check whether any notifications had been received from the home since our previous inspection or whether any information about the home had been received from other sources. What has this told us about the service? Our last key inspection showed the home was providing a good service, so we gave it a two-star rating. The agency sent us their AQAA in December 2009. It gave information we asked for and we judge from it that the home will continue to provide a good service, and also that they are aware of improvements they need to make. The two people currently in residence have both lived in the home for over nine years. At the time of writing this report, their responses to our survey were awaited. A review of our files showed that since our last inspection we have received one statutory notification from the home. We have also been made aware of one allegation about a former resident that was investigated by social services. Social services have reviewed their clients living in the home and have told us they have no safeguarding concerns. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are including Whitehouse in our inspection plan. We can inspect the home at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of people using the service.
