What the care home does well This home offers residents a high standard of nursing care in a well appointed and well maintained home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, residents look clean, happy and well cared for. People who were in bed, because they were unwell, look comfortable and free from pain. All of the residents that we spoke with and their relatives praised the staff and the care that they received. They told us "we are very well looked after" "staff are treasures" . They told us that they enjoy the activities that are arranged for them and that the meals are "extremely good".We saw pictures around the home of residents enjoying various occasions that had been organised for them. We looked at the homes complaints record. None of the issues raised had been about the service and they had all been dealt with promptly. The Commission has not received any complaints about the service since the last inspection. All of the requirements that were issued previously have been complied with. What the care home could do better: The home has introduced a new medication administration system. We noted that there had been some omissions in recording in the previous month and also that it was not always possible to complete an audit trail for some items of medication, not ordered on a regular basis. The registered manager has agreed to address this issue. No requirements were issued at this visit and the home will continue to be inspected in line with current guidelines. This visit was to check their compliance with requirements that were issued at the time and to confirm that this service is still providing good quality outcomes for the people who are living there.
