What the care home does well

Residents are being properly cared for and are well supported at the home. The comments that residents made to us helped to demonstrate this. We spoke to two of the residents who live at the home . We spoke to them about the care and support that the staff help them with, and if they feel happy living at the home. The person we met told us the staff are ,` good and I`m happy here but I want to move to the other house. I`ve been waiting a long time`. We also saw staff helping residents with their care needs and helping them to do house hold chores . We saw staff talk to the residents in a friendly and patient way .This helps to show us that residents are being well supported at the home . Care plan records are detailed and are written in a `person centered way`. The care plans guide the staff to provide unique care and support to each resident. Medication records help to confirm that residents medication is looked after safely. The environment is homely and safe and residents are happy living there. Residents are protected by the employment procedures used to recruit new staff. There are safe recruitment procedures followed to try and make sure only people who are suitable to work at the home are employed. Accident records help demonstrate to us that if residents have an accident the staff respond promptly and take the safest course of action needed.

What the care home could do better:

The frequency of supervision be improved and a system is in place so the manager is aware of any issues regarding staff members that are raised.
