Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included: - The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on home well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. - Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. - What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are legal documents. - The previous key inspection. - Relevant information from other organisations. - what other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The last key inspection of the service took place on 23/08/07. As a result of that inspection, we made a judgement that this was a good service. Feedback received from the people who use the service was positive and there was evidence that residents were supported to live valued and fulfilling lives, and that they were given control over their daily lives. During the last inspection we also found that all requirements that had been made at the previous inspection were met. Since the last inspection, we have not received any complaints about the service, nor have we been made aware of any allegation of abuse. At the last inspection, we found that the home had appropriate procedures in place in relation to adult protection issues and that people who use the service were safe from abuse. The home informs us of any significant events in the home, as required by law. We also did an annual service review, which took place on 15/09/08. Prior to this annual service review, we requested that the home complete and return an Annual Quality Assurance Assessment, which they did in the timescale given. This indicates that the service continues to provide a good standard of care. It also demonstrates the homes commitment to equality and diversity issues and that the home focuses on positive outcomes for people who use the service. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We are not going to change our inspection plan and will do a key inspection by the 23/08/10. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of service or safety of people using the service.
