Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for since the last key Inspection, which took place on the 03/10/2008. This included; - The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment ( AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA A is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. - Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. - Information we have been told about how the service has managed any complaints. - What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. - The previous key Inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. - Relevant information from other organisations. - What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was detailed, clear and provided us with all the information we had asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA, and within surveys given to people who use the service and staff. Our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and they know what further improvements need to be made. Information in the AQAA told us that-There has been on-going improvement of the environment, which has included redecoration of parts of the commuanl areas. -Staff have received additional training in choice, dignity and diversity issues. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. There has been a recent safeguarding incident concerning a person living in the home. The home followed the correct procedures to ensure that all people living in the home were kept safe. Agencies involved in the investigation of this matter praised the staff and management for providing excellent documentation of the incident, which assisted Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 them to carry out their investigations without any delays. The home has kept the Commission well informed of any proposed changes to the services provided. A key Inspection was completed on the 03/12/2007, and all standards inspected were met. A further key inspection took place on the 31/10/2008, following a change to the Registered Provider details. All standards inspected on this occassion were met and the judgement was that people living in the home continue to receive a good service. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan for this service. However, we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
