What the care home does well

Furthermore, the manager had organised statutory training for the care staff following the requirements in the last key inspection report, specifically in relation to safeguarding adults. One care plan relating to assistance with eating was looked at. The plans provides information to all staff on how the resident`s food should be presented and how she should be assisted to manage her food. This is an improvement since the last key inspection. The current temporary manager confirmed that follwing observations, service users are treated with dignity and respect. Furthermore staff could be heard offering service users choices of drinks which was not happening at the last key inspection.

What the care home could do better:

The fire training and instruction plan need to reflect when the training was provided for the staff by stating the dates on which the training or instructions were given. While training is taking place, the records need to be more robust and better organised. The temporary manager will follow this up.
