The inspector looked at two outcome areas including risk assessments and staff. Records relating to training were examined. The inspector found that significant progress has been made in ensuring that the staff training is update. These include staff refresher training in safe handling of medication, first aid, moving and handling, dementia awareness, safeguarding adults, mental capacity act and deprivation of liberty safeguards. However, the provider needs to make further efforts to ensure that all the staff receive training in dementia awareness, mental capacity act and deprivation of liberty safeguards. The inspector found that checks that are carried out for new employees were not always as robust as they could have been. The manager was advised to ensure that ID checks are carried robustly and in a manner that protects the residents from potential abuse.
