What the care home does well
The home provides a relaxed and calm atmosphere in a picturesque setting for retired clergy and church members. Care is provided in a dignified and respectful manner by a competent staff team. The choice of activities in the home is appropriate for the service users living there. The standard of accommodation is good with several service users very complimentary about their rooms and communal facilities. The home is well managed and both the manager and her deputy are committed to staff training and development.
What has improved since the last inspection?
There is an ongoing programme of decoration in place and several bedrooms have been redecorated since the last inspection. The deputy manager has introduced a book to record minor concerns and "niggles" which do not need to be formal complaints. Some staff have achieved NVQ level 3 while others are undertaking this.
What the care home could do better:
The home continues to provide good quality nursing care for the service users living there. There are no requirements as an outcome of this inspection. It is recommended that curtains or blinds are provided in an individual bedroom as requested by a service user during this in section.
