What the care home does well

The home is situated in a village location and its own large grounds. It is well maintained and offers comfortable and homely accommodation for the residents. Residents and visitors are made to feel welcome and able to be involved in the life and care provided. Relatives` comments mentioned the kindness and hard work of staff - `I thank the kindness of the staff looking after my mother`, `The staff are lovely`. The manager and staff evidently have a good rapport with residents and their relatives, so that there is a relaxed and friendly feel to the home.

What has improved since the last inspection?

The system of written records and the care planning process for residents has improved since the last inspection so that staff have more information about how best to meet resident`s individual care needs. The home manager undertakes more quality checks on various aspects of the service for residents, in line with the company`s quality assurance checks for all its homes, so that residents and their relatives are regularly asked their opinions about the care and facilities in the home.
