This inspection was carried out on 3rd October 2006.
CSCI has not published a star rating for this report, though using similar criteria we estimate that the report is Good. The way we rate inspection reports is consistent for all houses, though please be aware that this may be different from an official CSCI judgement.
The inspector made no statutory requirements on the home as a result of this inspection and there were no outstanding actions from the previous inspection report.

What the care home does well
The home continues to provide a friendly and caring environment and residents are receiving a good level of care. Residents who were spoken to during this visit all stated that they were very happy with the care they were receiving and felt well cared for by staff. The returned service user questionnaires were also very positive. Two visitors were spoken to and they said that they were very happy with the care their relatives were receiving. The home retains a stable staff team who all work well together and provide a caring and supportive environment. Staff receive a good level of training, which supports them with the work they carry out. Staff who were spoken to on the day stated that they continued to be happy working in the home and they felt well supported by the manager. The home is maintained to a high standard and resident`s bedrooms and communal areas were seen to be comfortable and homely.
What has improved since the last inspection?
The home has improved its recruitment procedures and all staffing files that were viewed during this visit contained all the required information. A requirement was made during the last inspection for the home to record hot water temperatures and to check call bells more regularly and this has been carried out. Since the last visit to the home a new shed has been purchased for the garden area.
