What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at the information we have received or asked for since the services last key inspection. This included; The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gives us some numerical information about the service such as numbers of staff and what qualifications they have. Surveys returned to us from people who use or work at the service. What the service has told us about things that have happened. These are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The inspection record. This is a document where we record any activity or information we receive about the service. Information about any complaints we or the service have received and how these have been managed. The previous key inspection report. No additional visits have been made to this service since the last key inspection. What has this told us about the service? The manager sent us their AQAA when we asked for it. The AQAA included a good level of information about how the service has developed since their last key inspection. The AQAA provided evidence that the manager constantly monitors quality and seeks the opinions of those using and working at the service throughout this process. The manager gave us a number of examples of changes that had been made as a result of listening to people who use the service. These included changes to the way people are involved with household tasks, changes in activities and improvements in the laundry systems. We received a good response to our written survey and all those who responded were very positive about the service provided. We received some very positive comments from people which included; The service supports people with mental health needs in a fair, respectful manner putting clients first. I am confident I have the knowledge and skills to do my job. Staff get treated in the right manner, service users needs are met to the highest of standards. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 Service users needs come first and the staff team work hard to ensure peoples needs are met. People are encouraged to be individuals and have a say in their own care. The manager works well with us and keeps us up to date with developments in the service. The manager informs us about any significant incidents that occur and what action has been taken as a result. The Care Quality Commission have not received any complaints about this service since their last key inspection and there have been no reported incidents to cause us concern. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan and will carry out a key inspection by 23rd May 2010. However, we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or safety of people using the service. Annual Service Review Page 5 of 6 Reader Information
