We did not undertake an inspection of 30 Newland Street as the registered provider has confirmed that there are no service users currently living at or using the service provided by the home. Every year the registered owner, provider or registered manager is asked to provide us with written information about the quality of the service they provide. In May 2010 the registered manager completed an Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA), which told us what they thought they did well. There was no information about what they thought they could do better or of their plans in the future to develop. Even without some of the information, the registered manager provided us with enough information to enable us to determine, if the home was to re open the the level of support they could expect to receive. We have not received any complaints or safeguarding matters about this service. We have consulted with the registered manager of the service in March and May 2010 who confirmed that the service remains Dormant. The registered manager is aware of the necessity to keep us up to date regarding any admissions to the home and or the longer term outcomes for this service once decisions have been made. To make sure we fulfil our regulatory function, we will continue to monitor the service through our own procedures and processes.
