We looked at all of the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and provided us with a lot of information and examples of what the home was doing to maintain excellent outcomes for the people using the service. We were given examples of what improvements had been made and what further improvements were planned. We sent surveys to the four people who live at the home. They all returned them back to us. Everyone had had an advocate to help them fill the survey in. The surveys were all positive. People told us that they knew how to make a complaint, were treat well by the staff and lived in a home that was fresh and clean. Two people said that they would like to speak to an inspector. We will do this when we next visit the home. We asked for examples of what the home did well. These are some of the things that we were told. The staff here listen to me more and I have more freedom and support from staff. Staff make sure I have everything I need and help me when I have funny feelings. Staff make me feel at home and safe and prompt me to look after myself properly. The staff take me out often and when I am upset, the staff are there when I need them. And The staff always help me when I am stuck and when doing tasks. They also help me when I am feeling confused or anxious. No one could tell us of any improvements that could be made to the service. Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since out last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. We have received no complaints about this service. We looked at all of the information available to us and out judgement is that the home is still providing an excellent service to the people that use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We Will do a key inspection by 11 December 2011. However, we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
